How Our Home Builder Association Improved Our Lives

As a custom home builder in West Virginia, we are proud to be members of the North Central WV Home Builders Association (NCWVHBA). Having a large presence and serving a significant need, they are a local chapter of The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and our state association, Home Builders Association West Virginia (HBAWV).

Our local chapter is the voice of the residential building industry, supporting members in their efforts to provide and expand opportunities for consumer access to safe, acceptable, and affordable housing. But they go beyond their mission, offering expert guidance, and advocacy for quality housing, education, job networks, and real member savings on services and products.

The Largest Network and The Best At What They Do

The National Association of Home Builders family has made a significant impact on our firm, staff, and management – including people in the communities where we live. Their vision is building homes, enriching communities, and changing lives. Their mission to accomplish this vision is to engage and add value to local communities with the largest network of craftsmen, innovators, and problem solvers dedicated to building and enriching communities. Starting a business with sweat equity is one thing, but competing and growing to be sustainable while having a responsible mission is quite an undertaking! Parker Rose Custom Homes would not be in the company and culture that it is today without the NCWVHBA in our lives.

Something For Everyone (To Build On)

And if you’re strictly someone who just looks at the numbers, you’ll experience one of the best ROIs you can get anywhere these days. Our personal experience and observation is – what you can “bring to the table” in a local chapter, you’ll get that back ten fold. Where can you get returns like that in the market? Driven first by our faith, we’ve always believed that it’s better to have a little bit of something, rather than a whole lot of nothing. As a lean start-up with a big American dream, we made one of the best early business decisions of that period and joined, with little understanding of the local builder and community networks. But what we did have was time, decades of experience, and a passion to be a part of something that would enrich our own lives and build a business as a by-product.

The Long-Standing Value The Associations Continue to Deliver

To continue a tradition of adding value and thriving, member associations over recent years have modernized and upped their game to be more innovative, and measure and quantify their value propositions. The North Central West Virginia Home Builders Association has delivered to us a strong network of fellow members and an affinity program, allowing access to discounts on products we use for our custom home builds. They have provided educational opportunities for our staff and partners, such as certification programs in the latest building techniques. These certifications are invaluable and help us maintain quality and up-to-date building practices. This is especially helpful when it comes to new construction regulations and local code ordinances.

Everyone Benefits from the NAHB Chapters, Whether You’re a Member or Not

The North Central West Virginia Home Builders Association also actively promotes safe and affordable housing in the local community, through their education and outreach efforts. They advocate for quality building standards to ensure that homes are built up to code, and they advise on materials sourcing so that these standards can be met regardless of budget. In addition, this association provides resources to those looking for local jobs in the industry, helping to build a strong and experienced workforce.

This means that not only have the associations and their chapters had an impact on our custom home-building firm, but they have also positively impacted thousands of others in North Central West Virginia. By advocating for quality housing and providing educational opportunities, access to resources and job networks, the North Central West Virginia Home Builders Association continues to change lives in positive ways. They have become a trusted source of information in the industry, and they continue to be a driving force in improving our community through their hard work and dedication to the cause. We are proud to call them partners in building homes and enriching communities. Regardless if you’re a member or not, the North Central West Virginia Home Builders Association and its NAHB affiliates personally change lives for the better.
